However, its attempts at standing out of the crowd often puts it on the hot seat. It claims to sell products for the misfits and thus more often than not its range of products verges on punk, emo, goth and rebellious fashion. Known for its funky, saucy and edgy fashion, Dolls Kill is certainly one of those brands that shout for consumer attention from a mile away. All its controversies over the years were dug up with ferociousness and #boycottdollskill gained huge support on Instagram and Twitter. People called out Dolls Kill for cultural appropriation, stealing designs from independent artists, glamourising rape culture and romanticizing mental illnesses. In the spotlight for promoting racism, the brand received strong backlash not just for not supporting the movement, but also for its previous deviations from ethical practices. The huge fall in the company’s customer base overnight led to Lynn posting an apology video on Twitter. The brand became the ‘hot topic’ just not in the way it wanted. #blacklivesmatter.” At a time when the whole world was waking up and joining the BlackLivesMatter movement, Lynn chose to support the actions of the police force and this generated so much hate for the brand that they ended up losing thousands of followers and customers overnight. ![]() The caption read, “Direct action in its glory. You probably won't get full price unless they are deadstock because unfortunately people are quite stingey now and expect everything to be cheaper but you might recoup most of the costs and in cash rather than losing £65 and only receiving store credit, it really depends on how many shoes you have and what sizes etc otherwise I expect you will have to shell out the postage costs to get the store credit back.įortunately you ordered at a time that sales tax is now included in the checkout after brexit, about a year ago you would have also encountered huge import VAT fees and customs too if you paid over £130. I think your best bet would be to resell on vinted, depop, ebay or one of the Facebook buy sell groups. It sucks but we can't expect companies to pay our return shipping costs on everything, as its near impossible for a company to know if something will fit you or not, however I do agree that a lot of dollskill shoes do run small and it is incredibly annoying. I personally don't agree with their store credit only policy and the fact that they won't pay for return shipping on faulty items but I have to be honest and say that even a lot of UK companies won't pay return shipping on items unless they are faulty because its not really viable for companies to pay the shipping costs on items that don't fit or aren't to our tastes etc because our bodies are all different and unfortunately it's the risk we take when ordering clothes or shoes online that we can't try on. Even within the UK, boots can be expensive to ship. Unfortunately it's down to the weight of shoes.
